DESCRIPTION: I had painted this reverse sunset before going to San Deigo. When I arrived I was caught in the largest wildfires in California's history. It was snowing ash, and the smoke filled the sky like a thunder cloud, glowing red from the wall of fire advancing over the hill. When I returned, I was surprised to see that my painting looked excatly like being caught in a firestorm
This painting uses subtle touches of iridescent and interference colors, so that it appears to glow and changes appearnce depending which angle it is viewed.
